Painters and Allied Trades District Council 51 Completes Renovation of New Offices.

District Council 51 recently completed renovations for the new Business Office at 4700 Boston Way, Lanham, Maryland. A new entrance way opens to a freshly furnished, much larger, day room to accommodate members and visitors that stop by the office. The new offices provide twelve new individual offices for the staff taking them out of the gang room they were in at the old facility and also providing for expansion of additional staff as the District Council grows.  There also is an expanded  file, fax and copy room, a break room, large conference room, upscale restrooms and a storage room .

Painters and Allied Trades District Council 51 Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee Completes Renovations of Training Space for Glaziers, Painters and Drywall Finishers

District Council 51 Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee recently completed the much needed and greatly anticipated training areas for the glaziers, painters and drywall finishers. The new training areas incorporate approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of state of the art offices, classrooms, shop and training labs. Each Instructor/Coordinator now has their own spacious office which takes the trainers out of the cramped quarters they were in at the old facility. The combined spaces have five individual classrooms with a seating capacity of 25 students in each, a Computer Lab that has 15 work stations, a Break Room, an Instructor's night office, and a Library. The Glazier's Training Area contains a welding shop that has ten (10) individual welding areas, also a metal  and glass fabrication shop. The Painter's Training Area houses a semi-down draft spray booth with infrared heat lamps, large enough to drive a car into, as well as, eighteen training labs (simulated office spaces) and five, fifty feet long, practice walls where apprentices can practice drywall finishing, painting, and wallcovering.
